3.1 What Genesis Lab Cosmetic Appliers can I use with my Head?
In general for the Genesis Lab v2 Heads, you can use any v2 or v3 Genesis Lab Cosmetic Appliers that apply to the following layers on the v2 Head:
Specialty Appliers like Eyelashes do not work consistently across all of the v2 Heads, due to the improvements made to the heads over the course of the v2 Product Line. The Eye Appliers (as in, for the Mesh Eyes that come with every v2 Head) will work for all of the v2 Eyes, with the exception of the Julia 22 - Eyes 2.3 RARE item where the HUD only works with the included Eyes.
The v2 and v3 Hairbase Appliers will also work with the v2 Heads. However, there are some v2 Heads that do not have Tattoo Layers or Eyes Layers for Cosmetic Appliers. For any v2 Head which does not have a Hairbase Layer or a Lips Layer, there are separate items available to attach with your head so that you can use Hairbases and Lipsticks. Please see the References section - Head Type Catalog for a list of v2 Heads that do not have all of the Cosmetic Layers available, and also where to get the extra Hairbase and Lips Layer items for your v2 Head if you have not picked them up yet.
PLEASE NOTE: The v2 HD Lipstick Appliers will not be able to apply to your v2 Head, as there is not a mapping to apply HD Textures on the v2 Heads!
- Eyes Layer (Eyeshadows, Eyeliners)
- Lips Layer (Lipgloss, Lipstick)
- Tattoo Layer (Blush, Freckles, Beauty Marks, Face Painting, etc.)

3.2 Does each Genesis Lab v2 Head require its own separate set of appliers?
Good news - the answer to this question is not at all!
The v2 and v3 Genesis Lab Head Products are meant to be cross-compatible in terms of their Skins and Cosmetic Appliers.
In general, any Genesis Lab v2 or v3:
There are some exceptions to the mix and matching ability:
Please see the References section - Head Type Catalog for a list of v2 Heads that do not have all of the Cosmetic Layers available. The Genesis Lab Main Store has a Group Gift (Asol) available which contains a copyable external mesh Hairbase item that accepts Genesis Lab Appliers, and boxes in front of the older Julia and Emily Gacha boards with extra Hairbase and Lips Layer items if your v2 Head if you haven't picked up these items.

3.3 Do the Genesis Lab v2 Heads work with Omega Skin or Cosmetic Appliers?
Sorry, only the v3 Bento Heads have been updated to include Omega-compatible Cosmetic Layers. Please do not purchase the Omega System Kit - Genesis Lab item for a v2 Head as they have not been updated to work with the Omega System -- only the v3 Bento Heads will work with the Omega System Kit installer!
PLEASE NOTE: Neither the v2 nor the v3 Genesis Lab Head Product Lines will work with Omega Skin Appliers, however.

3.4 Can I use the Genesis Lab v3 Appliers on a v2 Head?
Yes you can!
In general, the v2 Head will accept the following Genessis Lab v3 Appliers:
PLEASE NOTE: Omega Cosmetic Appliers will NOT work on your v2 Head, as none of the v2 Heads have been updated to work with the Omega System -- even if you bought the Omega System Kit - Genesis Lab, it still will not work with your v2 Head, sorry!

3.5 How do I get the rest of the Skin Tones for my head?
Currently (4/4/17), you will need to purchase each Head + Skin Tone package separately. What this means is that if you have a v2 Mariko Head that came with a Cream Skin Tone Applier, you will need to purchase a v2 Mariko Head + Milk Skin Tone if you would like the v2 Mariko Milk Skin Tone HUD.
If you would like to see an option to purchase only the v2 Skins or a v2 Skin Fat Pack, please send a notecard to one of the Store Managers letting them know what you would be likely to purchase, if it were available in the store! They are always looking for ideas!

3.6 Can I purchase the v2 Skin Tones separately?
Similar to the answer for 3.5 above, currently (4/4/17), the only way to purchase a v2 Skin that came with a v2 Head is to purchase the v2 Head + Skin combination that is available in the Genesis Lab Main Store (or play one of the Gacha Machines in the store, if it was a Gacha Release).

3.7 How do I get my Genesis Lab v2 Head in my favourite Skin Tone?
For a specific FACE in a specific Genesis Lab SKIN TONE:
If your v2 Head does not have a particular Skin Tone Option shown, then it means that the Skin Tone Option isn't available.
For a list of the available Skin Tones by the name of the v2 Head or Skin, see either the coloured makeup bottles in front of the desired v2 Head Portrait Photo in the Genesis Lab Main Store or the References section - Skin Tone Appliers Catalog in this FAQ.

For either any FACE or a specific FACE in a 3rd party SKIN TONE:
You will need to see if the 3rd party brand carries a Genesis Lab-specific Skin Applier, as the Genesis Lab Skin Appliers are only available in the Genesis Lab Skin Tone range (e.g. v2 Madlen Skin Applier will not be available in Glam Affair Asia Skin Tone)

3.8 Where are the matching Body Appliers for my v2 Head?
If you are using a Genesis Lab v2 or v3 Skin on your v2 Head, the matching Body Appliers are available on the wall to the left of the main entrance desk at the Genesis Lab Main Store in-world.
The Genesis Lab v3 Skin Appliers are also available on the Marketplace: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/162916

3.9 Are there other cleavage options for the matching v2 Body Appliers?
Currently (4/4/17) there are no other v2 Body Applier styles available from Genesis Lab. However, there are many designers that make body tattoos which could add different cleavage options to an applied Body Skin. Please see groups dedicated to your body for more information.
3.10 How do I add Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, and/or Tattoo Cosmetic Appliers to my v2 Head?
Every v2 Head* allows you to apply cosmetic textures to layers that sit above the Skin and this is achieved through scripted buttons in a HUD.
The following general instructions will work for most Genesis Lab Appliers (even though they may not all look the same). For instructions for how to use your v2 Skin HUD and all of its features, please see v2 Skin HUD.
(You may need to first open a bag/box to get the Applier into your inventory in order to use it.)
An example of an Eyeshadow Applier HUD is shown below.

(You may need to first open a bag/box to get the Applier into your inventory in order to use it.)
- Locate the Applier HUD item in your inventory. Most of the Cosmetic Appliers are named such as HUD_Genesis_Lab_Appliertype_APPLIERNAME
- Right click on the item in your inventory and choose ADD (not wear!) by left-clicking on the Add option from the pop-up menu.
- Once the HUD has loaded onto your screen, simply click on the button (icon) of the shade or style that you wish to apply to your v2 Head.
- You may also clear the layer of any applied textures by clicking on the dark button labelled with the layer name at the bottom of the HUD.
An example of an Eyeshadow Applier HUD is shown below.
*Except our first blinking heads - Suzy, Jiang, Julia, and Emily, which do not have eyeshadow and/or tattoo layers. Julia requires a separate mesh item mask for lipstick and hair base appliers as well.
3.11 Why isn't the Applier working?
If your chosen applier doesn't seem to be working, make sure that you are:
- In an area that allows you to run scripts; and,
- In as low-lag area as you can find.
If you do not see your applied texture loading on your face fairly quickly (or it looks plain grey for a long time), you can tell the asset server to prioritise your head for texture loading (and get it to render your applied texture quickly) by:
- Place your avatar on a pose stand or otherwise keep your avatar still.
- On your keyboard, hold down the Option (Alt) key (usually one or two keys to the left of the space bar)
- Press and hold the left mouse button down; and,
- Now, whilst still holding down both the Option (Alt) button and your left mouse button, move your mouse away from you (the direction of moving the mouse pointer "up" your screen, typically) in order to "zoom in" on your face and and tell the asset server what to prioritise.
